FAQ — Why Zoom?

Why are classes on Zoom?

Classes are currently held on Zoom to make Killian’s Workshop accessible to students anywhere. Zoom allows us to work live, in real time, while creating a focused, low-pressure environment that supports confidence-building and growth.

Is Zoom effective for this kind of work?

Yes. Zoom mirrors many real-world situations where presence and communication matter — interviews, meetings, auditions, presentations, and on-camera moments. The skills practiced translate directly to real-life settings.

I’m nervous about being on camera. Is this still for me?

Absolutely. Many students join because they’re uncomfortable on camera. Zoom offers a gentler entry point where students can build confidence at their own pace in a supportive environment.

Will there be in-person classes in the future?

In-person classes and intensives are part of the long-term vision for Killian’s Workshop. Zoom allows us to build community and skills now while growing toward future in-person offerings.

Do I need acting experience to take this class?

No. Acting is the tool, not the requirement. This class is for anyone who wants to communicate more clearly, feel more confident being seen, and show up fully in spaces that matter.

Will I still get feedback and interaction on Zoom?

Yes. Classes are live and interactive, with direct feedback, guided exercises, and active participation — not passive lectures.
